    The Story

A Candid Journey of Passion, Curiosity, Grit, and Vision

My professional journey is fundamentally shaped by the unique blend of cultural immersion and systemic curiosity that defined my upbringing. As a first-generation immigrant, my early years spanned the contrasting environments of Ecuador: the meticulously crafted heritage of Cuenca and the raw resourcefulness of the Amazon. This exposure instilled a core appreciation for both detailed execution and radical adaptation.

Raised in Cuenca, often referred to as the "Athens of Ecuador," a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its colonial architecture and artisanal prowess, I was immersed in a culture defined by craftsmanship. My family, from a grandfather who practiced bespoke jewelry design to a grandmother who hand-wove Panama Hats with unwavering precision, cultivated an early understanding of detail-oriented production and commitment to quality. The remainder of my family engaged in farming across extensive tracts of land, stretching from the city limits into the jungle. When my immediate family pursued opportunity in the United States, my mother chose to stay, foregoing her own college education to ensure mine was prioritized. This environment, characterized by scarcity and tremendous dedication, placed an absolute premium on resourcefulness and intellectual drive.

Lacking conventional resources, my primary focus shifted to dissecting and re-engineering everyday objects. My childhood became an unintentional, hands-on laboratory where I dismantled discarded consumer electronics—tape decks, toasters, and televisions—to extract motors and components. This self-directed, trial-and-error approach, often resulting in spectacular failures and modest successes (such as makeshift RC cars and a soldering iron heated for hours), fostered an innate and deep understanding of electromechanical systems. As my mother once noted, my early analysis of circuit boards saw the chips as "small buildings and roads"—a clear, intuitive foreshadowing of a career dedicated to architecting and managing complex digital systems and infrastructure.

The eventual arrival of a personal computer from New York City marked the definitive transition from physical to digital systems. Without internet access or access to applications, the machine became a pure engine for self-directed exploration. I shifted my focus entirely from makeshift toys to mastering foundational software environments, utilizing MS-DOS, Turbo Pascal, and floppy disks. This period of deep, practical competency in core programming and operating system architecture proved to be the pivotal precursor to a professional life centered on systemic problem-solving and technological creation.

Providing IT Services to Support A Medical Career

    2008-2014

    Welcome to NYC

My family paved the way for me to come to NYC to pursue my medical career. Graduating Salutatorian from Academy of Medical Technology my goal was to become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The heart, my favorite organ and the driver of life was at the core of my studies. An honors student in science, chemistry, and physics. I got accepted to an accelerated Pre-Med program at NYU. In my free time, I was mastering the internet, programming apps, and learning more about the wonderful world of technology.

College was characterized by two incredible realizations.

    • The future of medicine is preventative, the biggest impact on human health is the care we place on ourselves as we age.
    • The happiness of my small clients when resolving their technology woes gave me joy. This was truly my calling.

As my medical career became increasingly expensive. I decided to not take out student loans and transfer to CCNY for Biomedical Engineering, and then Queens College for International Business. Eventually I dropped out to pursue a career in Information Technology.

Dr. Byte Computer Services provided IT Services for local businesses through word of mouth and the clear business card.

    2015-2020

    My Early Career

My first IT Job was as a helpdesk technician. I did not understand why every week I had to fix the same issues and tickets over and over. However, I got exposure into how important technology is for a business. I left and shortly after I landed a position as Head of IT for Coalition Space, managing their infrastructure. Coalition's founder, a Comuter Science graduate from Harvard and I spent a lot of time building our own networking equipment, routing tables, and security permissions using Linux and our own hardware.
